Norton, Massachusetts, USA, 6th May, 2008 – ProMedDx, LLC, a leading life science clinical research and biologic storage organization, today announced production support for Micronic 2D specimen barcodes.  The new service option adds fully integrated support for Micronic 2D specimen tubes and specimen rack products to the company's inventory management and tracking systems. Specimen tubes labeled with 2D barcodes are highly resistant to frequent freeze thaw cycles and solvent issues that can adversely affect other specimen labeling technologies.

The ProMedDx Inventory Management System (PIMS) currently supports the management and processing of specimens labeled with traditional 1-dimensional barcodes using a variety of industry standard symbologies, non barcoded specimens, and now 2 dimensional bar codes using Micronic technology.
