BIOSTORAGE SOLUTIONS - Database & Technology

The most effective means of preserving biological materials is by freezing and storing them at low-temperatures.

The most important element of a low-temperature storage system is ensuring a constant range of temperatures below a minimum critical threshold (MCT). Whether your specimens require refrigeration at 4°C, freezing at -70°C, or ultra-low liquid nitrogen storage at or below -150°C, you will receive the same uncompromising commitment from ProMedDx BioStorage.

  • Controlled and monitored temperature storage: Ambient, 2-8°C (Refrigerated), -20°C (Freezer), -80°C (Ultra-low freezer), or -196°C (Cryogenic)
  • Specimen storage capacity of more than 5,000,000 specimens
  • Equipment calibrated with NIST traceable probes
  • 21 CFR Part 11 compliant Centralized Environmental Monitoring System

INFORMATION SYSTEMS
The ProMedDx Inventory Management System (PIMS) has been engineered and implemented to accurately and securely process, manage, store, and retrieve large quantities of specimens and data. Our encrypted, web-based application, with its relational database support, enables you to monitor the location and disposition of your specimens remotely and securely, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Utilizing our suite of software applications, we can:

  • Assign unique ProMedDx accession numbers and barcodes to project and sample, allowing for protocol specific storage, sorting, and retrieval requirements
  • Transfer all results (including referral laboratories and 3rd parties) into standard ProMedDx data transmissions
  • De-identify and barcode specimens as required
  • Remotely query your specimen inventory and reporting
  • Schedule and distribute specimens to your sites as directed
  • Design and supply barcoding and storage supplies required for your study
